THEATRE
ROYAL
BY NICKI DIXON
So the clocks have gone back, the
jumpers have come out and the
heating has gone on. Autumn is
definitely here.
November is a packed month at the
Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds and the
month we welcome BAFTA-nominated
Cathy Tyson to our stage in the thoughtprovoking
new play, She Called Me Mother.
She plays Caribbean homeless woman,
Evangeline whose relationship with her
daughter, Shirley is the subject of the play.
Catch it on 11 and 12 November at 7.30pm.
On 13 November we welcome back Kepow
Theatre Company who dazzled our audience
last year with Seven Ages.
This time they present On The Edge! which
explores all those moments in life that matter
like falling in love, leaving home, getting a job
and bungee jumping!
Actor Clive Francis reprises his popular role
of Ebeneezer Scrooge in his unique one-man
adaptation of A Christmas Carol on 14 November
we re-live the everlasting sound of Buddy Holly
when the breath-taking show, Buddy Holly
And The Cricketers gives us some of the most
memorable music in Rock n Roll history.
From 16 to 18 November we welcome back the
popular Ballet Theatre UK with The Snow Queen
, a spectacular story which follows Gerda and her
quest to find her friend Kay who has been but
under a spell by the Snow Queen.
And 27 November sees the start of this year’s
pantomime (oh yes it does!) .
Jack & The Beanstalk is a traditional family
pantomime suitable for all ages and is filled with
fun, laughter, music and large sprinkling of magic
for good measure.
It runs until 10 January.
