Time
This
month we welcome
a new column especially
for ‘first timers’ out
there. Lets face it
there is a first time
for everything...
This column was inspired by a
friend of mine who said “wouldn’t
it be great to produce a column to
help people with those ‘first time’
dilemmas?” I thought so too, so
here it is this month, starting with
‘sharing a home with a partner’.
So you and your partner have taken the leap to
move in together. By now you’ve probably looked
into finding a new place, sorting through financials,
deciding what to take or leave from your existing
property and getting mentally prepared to share
each others space (and habits)!
The Perks...
Although it may take planning, coordination,
money and can be pretty stressful the upside of
moving in together can be a perfect solution for
some couples. Some reasons are emotional – you
want to spend more time together and support
one another. There are also so many financial
benefit, shared rent and food shopping make
living a little easier in this day and age.
Collaborate...
You can enjoy decorating your home together
regardless of your DIY skills. Establish a combined
sense of ownership, share ideas and don’t forget
to take an interest in each other’s desires. Creating
harmony takes teamwork… sure you are bound to
disagree on something’s but I always think a game
of ‘rock, paper, scissors’ could be a good way to
settle it.

Your styles may be different but sometimes
having individual tastes can result in the most
creative and interesting designs. By blending
styles you can create your own unique
