Finally Jesus presided over the New covenant ceremony just as<br />
he had presided over the Old Covenant Ceremony. Only this<br />

Justin Martyr (Dialogue with Tryph0 60), Irenaeus (Against<br />
Heresies IV.20.7-11), Tertullian ("C. Marc.", II, 27; Against<br />
Praxeas 15-16), Novatian (On the Trinity 18.25), Theophilus (To<br />
Autolycus II.22), are all <strong>of</strong> the opinion that theophanies are not<br />
compatible with the essential nature <strong>of</strong> the Father, since Father<br />
has no physical components. Theophanies therefore are an<br />
essential part <strong>of</strong> the nature <strong>of</strong> the Son. In a sense Son is the<br />
communicating part <strong>of</strong> the Godhead.<br />
