Sharing Joyful Raya Mood with
Passengers at KLIA and klia2
Hari Raya means ‘grand day of rejoicing’ in Malay. The
celebration takes place to welcome the month of Syawal after
a month of fasting in the month of Ramadhan by Muslims.
Muslims celebrate the day with great joy, visiting the mosque
to pray and spending the rest of the day gathering with family
members, receiving relatives and guests.
To help build up the excitement of Raya at KLIA and klia2,
Malaysia Airports’ top management and staff distributed
Raya traditional cookies to passengers at both terminals
between 4 and 6 July. To assist Muslims passengers break
their fast as per tradition, Kurma (dates) were also handed out.
The atmosphere around the airports took a true Raya mood
with memorable acoustic performance by Malaysia Airports'
employees themselves.
With Raya songs filling up the air, passengers
were also captivated by the Raya decoration
installed all over KLIA and klia2 to create
a nostalgic Raya feel, through a theme
that portrayed children’s imagination
of the celebration that also conveyed
positive messages. Special booths
selling Raya items were also readily
available for passengers to bring
home Raya souvenirs.
