BESIDES MALAYSIA, WHERE ELSE
DO YOU CONSIDER HOME?
Singapore is my second home because I have
family there. Having said that, 'home' is also
represented by the people around us. For me,
that would be my husband who is also my best
friend so I can feel at home almost anywhere in
this world if my husband is travelling with me.
YOU FIND MOST
WHAT IS YOUR PRE-
BOARDING HABIT?
It's nice to arrive at any airport early so you're not rushing. I
enjoy having a hot drink in any of the airport cafes and strolling
around KLIA's duty-free shops though I seem to spend most
of my time before boarding my flight in the bookshop.
WHICH PARTICULAR
DESTINATIONS HAVE
YOU TRAVELLED TO
THAT YOU WANT TO
REVISIT AGAIN?
Shooting for Jojo's Diary of
Asia at Bhaktapur, Nepal
I miss the food in Thailand and the warm hospitality of the
Balinese people. I would also love to go back to Australia just
to watch the waves. I'm not even a surfer, but Australia really
has so much beauty. I loved the incredible sunsets over the
ocean, inhaling clean fresh air and enjoying so much space.
One day, I would also love to return to Africa. There's no place
like it. If you're a nature lover and you love seeing animals
roaming free, it's something to put on your bucket list.
TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR ROLE AS A
HOST ON TLC'S JOJO'S DIARY
OF ASIA AND WHAT YOU
ENJOY DOING ON THE SHOW?
Shooting 'Jojo's Diary of Asia' was really a
moving diary of my travels and I personally
wrote all the voice over scripts so that the
essence of how I felt on my travels could be
authentically captured. I was more of a
participant rather than a host because I was
really on a journey to soak up local culture and
the myriad of ways you can de-stress. I learnt
so much on my travels and I had so many
unique experiences from a private lesson in
Kung Fu in Hong Kong to learning the art of
the samurai sword in Japan and spinning clay
on an ancient pottery wheel in Nepal.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT
TRAVELLING AND WHAT HAS
GLOBETROTTING TAUGHT YOU?
It gives you a great break from your daily routine and a change
of scenery is always refreshing. It opens your mind and it places
you in the present moment because there's something very
special about being in a new location and seeing things you've
never seen before, for the first time.
WHICH COUNTRY DO YOU REALLY WANT
TO VISIT IN THE NEAR FUTURE?
I've been thinking about Alaska or Iceland.
