If you hear the above lyrics blasting through the sound system at shopping malls and restaurants,<br />

it's festivities galore as Muslims celebrate Eid or better known as Hari Raya Aidilfitri in Malaysia<br />

during the second week of July. But, don't be confused if you see us still celebrating the<br />

occasion for a month or more. Oh yes, we do love a good celebration and the food that<br />

comes along with it. Here are 10 of them that you should and must try this Raya!<br />

For the uninitiated, the lyrics loosely translate to: "Happy Aidilfitri Everyone, The Occasion<br />

Comes Only Once A Year, Let's Celebrate This Noble Festival."<br />

NASI IMPIT WITH PEANUT SAUCE<br />

Some of you may think this is just rice with peanut<br />

sauce. Well, that is true. But, having your regular rice<br />

compressed into small cubes somehow elevates the<br />

whole eating experience! The rice cubes are usually<br />

eaten with peanut sauce (a common satay dip),<br />

sambal (hot sauce made with a variety of chillies) or<br />

rendang (spicy meat dish).<br />
