Quick Eats
Some of us may spend 20 minutes or 20 hours at the airport waiting for a
flight. While waiting, why not grab a quick bite or drink to replenish yourself?
More than just an airport, Malaysia Airports is the way of life. It is a lifestyle
destination where visitors — both local and international find a variety of
gifts, souvenirs and food. Here are several food options we recommend
you to visit!
WHET YOUR APPETITE
WITH LOCAL FLAVOURS AT
MALAYSIAN
RECIPE CAFE
AND
OLD MALAYA
KOPITIAM
This family of entrepreneurs may only
have one member with formal culinary
skills but rest assured, they continue
to cook up a storm in the food and
beverage business.
Old Malaya Kopitiam and Malaysian
Recipe Cafe Director, Muhammad
Fidzwan bin Md Idris said the family of
seven may have come from different
academic backgrounds but their passion
remains the same and that is to provide
the best in the food and beverage industry.
Both Old Malaya Kopitiam and Malaysian
Recipe Cafe started in 2008 and is now
run by the three brothers; Director, Mohd
Firdaus bin Md Idris, Chef, Muhammad
Farid Haziq bin Md Idris and Muhammad
Fidzwan bin Md Idris. The restaurants were
mooted off by Fidzwan's parents who hail
from Larkin, Johor Bahru and wanted to
bring southern local flavours to the capital
city and its surrounding areas.
Today, the menu still retains its southern
influences but it has also kept with times
and has dishes with a Western touch.
This includes Malaysian Recipe Cafe's
bestselling dishes such as Nasi Goreng
Chicken Chop, Nasi Lemak Ayam
Rendang and Mee Rebus.
"We believe in providing the best. The
taste and quality has to be good or else
you would not be seeing your customers
again. Both restaurants offer meals at
affordable prices and our portions are
large!" said Fidzwan.
Commenting on type of clientele, he said
the restaurants attract a healthy mix of
both local and international customers
with plenty of regular customers
especially at Old Malaya Kopitiam.
Fidzwan continues, "We also serve our
signature coffee drink either hot or cold
and is a favourite among customers. The
coffee beans are sourced locally and we
blend them ourselves."
