Twenty-two teams will participate in the <strong>2016</strong><br />

edition of this annual cycling event which covers<br />

Bruce Lee: Kung Fu. Art. Life<br />

This ongoing exhibition showcasing Bruce Lee<br />

movie memorabilia, costumes, scripts and<br />

photographs has just been updated with 12 new<br />

exhibits. These include Lee's own manuscripts<br />

from martial arts blockbuster Enter the Dragon,<br />

plus the metal claw designed by Lee as a prop<br />

for the movie.<br />

Boryeong Mud Festival<br />

Don't be afraid to get dirty! At this festival, there’s<br />

lots of music, dance parties and the dress code<br />

is muddy. What's more? Mr. Mud contest, mud<br />

wrestling, mud races and even a mud boot camp.<br />

An iconic annual Melbourne event, the festival<br />

takes place in the heart of the city, presenting an<br />

acclaimed screening programme alongside<br />

industry and celebratory events.<br />

Comic-Con International<br />

Date: 21 July – 24 July <strong>2016</strong><br />

Venue: San Diego, California, United States<br />

This is where everything geek happens. Comic-<br />

Con is the main event for comic conventions,<br />

including comics creators, TV directors,<br />

producers, writers and fans of all these popular<br />

arts genres. Many fans show their love by<br />

dressing in costume to heighten the experience,<br />

but all are welcome at Comic-Con.<br />

Bass Coast<br />

Date: 8 – 11 July <strong>2016</strong><br />

Venue: Merritt, British Columbia, Canada<br />

This electronic music festival pays homage to<br />

the Canadian province in which the fest takes<br />

place. As for “Coast”, it stands for: Community,<br />

Organization, Art, Science and Technology — the<br />

principles on which this music festival<br />

was founded.<br />

Crop Over<br />

Date: July <strong>2016</strong><br />

Venue: Bridgetown, Barbados<br />

The Americas<br />

This harvest festival kicks it off with a colourful<br />

parade followed by floats, carnival bands,<br />

bicycles and decorated carts cruise through town.<br />

Highlights include crowning a sugarcane king<br />

and queen of the festival which traditionally, are<br />

the most productive sugar croppers of the<br />

season. A ceremonial sugarcane baton is passed,<br />

representing the last of the harvest.<br />

Africa and The Middle East<br />

Istanbul Jazz Festival<br />

Date: 27 June – 25 July <strong>2016</strong><br />

Venue: Istanbul, Turkey<br />

The 23rd Istanbul Jazz Festival programme<br />

includes a range of jazz, funk, world music, blues<br />

and rock performances, with highlights including<br />

the legendary Nile Rodgers and his group CHIC,<br />

as well as current and former members of The<br />

Syrian National Orchestra for Arabic music with<br />

Damon Albarn, Kamasi Washington, Laura Mvula,<br />

Ernest Ranglin, Hugh Coltman, Joss Stone,<br />

Vintage Trouble and Gregory Porter. The festival<br />

also features a children’s event for the first time<br />

this year. Something for the whole family!<br />
