Choose a database name and instance name and click Next to go to Step 4: Management
Options.
Step 4: Management Options
Figure 6-11 shows the screen for Step 4: Management Options. In this step, you configure
Enterprise Manager, the user-friendly GUI tool provided by Oracle for database administration.
Its primary component is Database Control, which is used to manage a single
database; a more advanced option called Grid Control can be used to manage all the
databases in the enterprise from a single console. A major attraction of Database Control
and Grid Control is that they are web applications and can be accessed using any Internet
browser. Another major attraction is that they can monitor the databases and can send
e-mail notifications and pager notifications when problems are detected.
