Independent Living is designed to develop
confidence and competence in completing
everyday tasks that will support greater
independence.
These programmes recognise the need for
learners to develop an awareness of the
community, to develop basic cooking skills,
personal hygiene routines, money skills and
manage appropriate relationships. Each year
the programme will stretch and challenge
learners to build on what was achieved in
previous years.
Learners will participate in healthy exercise,
visit community locations to shop and
learn about money and develop improved
communication skills and confidence
to make choices about their everyday
activities.
