The AAT Diploma in Accountancy qualification is designed to provide<br />
you with the skills you need to begin your career in accountancy<br />
and help you master more complex financial processes, including<br />
final accounts for sole traders and partnerships, reports and returns<br />
and professional ethics. The course is composed of two parts — part<br />
1 of the programme will enable you to gain the AAT Foundation<br />
Certificate in Accounting and part 2 will enable you to gain the AAT<br />
Advanced Diploma in Accounting.<br />
Part 1 ensures that students are prepared to progress on to a<br />
career in business, finance or professional accountancy. At the<br />
end of part 1, you will have developed accountancy skills in doubleentry<br />
bookkeeping and basic costing, as well as an understanding<br />
of purchase, sales and general ledgers. Part 2 of the programme<br />
covers a range of complex accounting tasks, including maintaining<br />
cost accounting records and the preparation of reports and returns.<br />
