MATHS & ENGLISH<br />
The College works to support the development of Maths and English.<br />
Achieving Maths and English at GCSE grade A*—C is essential for<br />
progression within further education and on to Higher Education and<br />
employment. If you have yet to achieve a minimum grade C we will<br />
support you in studying these subjects in order to achieve this standard.<br />
We want you to leave our college with a good grasp of Maths and English,<br />
to ensure you are well equipped to work effectively in the industry of your<br />
choice.<br />
WORK EXPERIENCE<br />
PERSONAL TUTOR<br />
The level of pastoral care is a particular strength of the College. Much like<br />
university, students will have a personal tutor who ensures that not only<br />
the course is going well but that all other factors are addressed, such as<br />
providing careers advice, study plans or issue resolution. They are here to<br />
support you in achieving and surpassing your goals.<br />
Work experience enhances theoretical learning by allowing you to apply<br />
your knowledge to real work situations. Most of our courses provide a<br />
number of employer links to allow you to gain work experience that is<br />
relevant and exciting for you, which will also look great on your CV.<br />
SKILLS INTO PRACTICE<br />
<strong>Course</strong>s are developed to give you the best chance of getting the career<br />
you want. You will be encouraged to take part in extra-curricular activities<br />
and projects where you put your skills into practice. Whether it’s a startup<br />
project, national competition or community work, these activities will<br />
help you develop yourself to progress to the next stage in your career, or<br />
build an outstanding CV and personal statement.<br />
