Description
Acolens is a lens analysis/image correction tool, with preset lens profiles and facilities
for making your own with the addition of the Acolens Reference Chart. Each profile
can be used for making corrections to the various kinds of geometric distortion caused
by that individual lens.
The vendor uses mathematical variance analysis to detect how far the lens deviates from
ideal performance in respect of geometric distortion, vignetting, and lack of focus
towards the edges. Algorithms calculate actual and desired values, and then corrections
can be made to the image. Sometimes a photographer may want to keep one type of
distortion as part of the composition, so that option is preserved.
