Thanks to <strong>Makivik</strong> board members<br />
As reported in our last edition of <strong>Makivik</strong><br />
<strong>Magazine</strong>, Air Inuit celebrated its thirty-fifth<br />
anniversary last August 28, across Nunavik and<br />
in Montreal. All Nunavimmiut were invited to<br />
participate in local community events. Thank<br />
are extended to the <strong>Makivik</strong> board members<br />
in each community for organizing these successful<br />
celebrations.<br />
New Inuit flight attendants<br />
It is with great pride that Air Inuit welcomed<br />
Nelly Napartuk from Umiujaq, Roxanne<br />
Kristensen from Ivujivik and Akisuk Naluiyuk<br />
from Salluit to its ranks. These three Inuit beneficiary<br />
flight attendants graduated thanks<br />
to a successful affirmative action initiative<br />
that was carried out by the company’s Flight<br />
Operations Department. The candidates participated<br />
in a training program that was held<br />
in Salluit throughout the months of July and<br />
August 2013. The three newly certified flight<br />
attendants and have started to fly throughout<br />
our network.<br />
Annual air transportation meeting<br />
Last November 21, Air Inuit held its Annual<br />
Air Transportation meeting in Montreal with<br />
the Nunavik mayors and landholding corporations’<br />
presidents. This valuable annual event<br />
allows the communities to provide constructive comments to improve<br />
Air Inuit’s services. We thank all communities for actively participating<br />
and ensuring we all work towards a common goal of improving<br />
Nunavik’s air service.<br />

Isaruuk and Ilaujuq programs<br />
Air Inuit’s Isaruuk rewards program is quite popular, with more than<br />
500 members already registered through the Air Inuit website since its<br />
launch. Each registered member receives a personalized membership card.<br />
As a reminder, the Ilaujuq program entitles the beneficiary identified<br />
on this certificate, for the validity period specified, to A) one 75%<br />
discounted ticket (applicable on the adult Y fare, the child YCH fare<br />
or the senior YCD fare) up to a maximum of $800 all taxes included,<br />
or B) one cargo shipment of an all terrain vehicle, snowmobile or<br />
outboard motor at a 75% discounted cargo rate applicable on the<br />
LaGrande to community portion, or between Nunavik communities<br />
up to a maximum of $800, all taxes included.<br />
