room through a short hallway, as<br />

one might enter a gracious home. Intimately<br />

lots of natural light by day.<br />

MENU HIGHLIGHTS<br />

La Casa encapsulates its Italian roots by<br />

offering traditional home-style fare such<br />

as risotto, ravioli, lasagne, spicy lobster<br />

& shrimp fettuccine and angel hair pasta. The<br />

menus emphasize the classics of the Italian<br />

culinary canon and the authenticity that comes<br />

from family recipes handed down through the<br />

generations. The pastas are all made in-house.<br />

The restaurant does its own smoking, baking and<br />

desserts. The sourdough starter is 20 years old<br />

now! Recommendations include:<br />

• Rack of Lamb — herb-crusted Ontario lamb, with roasted red potatoes, vegetable<br />

ratatouille and a shiraz-lamb sauce;<br />

• Seafood Risotto — lobster, seared scallops, shrimp, diced pancetta, mascarpone<br />

cheese and fresh pea shoots;<br />

• Beef Tenderloin — 8-ounce hand-cut fillet, with asparagus tips, garlic mashed<br />

potatoes, roasted portebello mushroom and a beef jus demi-glace.<br />

Veal Marsala, veal tenderloin tower,<br />

on a spinach & wild mushroom risotto<br />

gâteau, in a marsala reduction<br />

Salmone Della Casa, fresh salmon,<br />

one of the daily specials, always uniquely<br />
