His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saqr<br />
al Qasimi, a member of the ruling<br />
family of the emirate of Ras Al<br />
Khaimah (RAK) in the United Arab<br />
Emirates, is the chairman of the Ras Al<br />
Khaimah Department of Customs and<br />
Seaports, the Ras Al Khaimah Free<br />
Trade Zone Authority (RAK FTZ),<br />
among many other entities.<br />
Under his vision and leadership, the<br />
ports and the free trade zone at Ras Al<br />
Khaimah thrived and grew with more<br />
investors enticed to set up companies<br />
in the emirate with its diversified taxfree<br />
business-friendly products and<br />
services.<br />
The US-educated Sheikh Ahmed is<br />
known for promoting the spirit of<br />
entrepreneurship, enticing foreign<br />
investment to come in to create a<br />
vibrant and economically viable future<br />
for Ras Al Khaimah.<br />
Sheikh Ahmed also chairs the RAK<br />
Investment Authority (RAKIA), the RAK<br />
National Insurance Co., Falcon<br />
Technologies and the RAK Hospitality<br />
Holding.<br />
The eight son of the late Sheikh Saqr<br />
Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the former<br />
ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh<br />
Ahmed was born in Ras Al Khaimah on<br />
October 21, 1977. He is married with<br />
three children.<br />
Apart from being heavily involved with<br />
business and politics in RAK, Sheikh<br />
Ahmed is also well known for his<br />
philanthropy. He supports countless<br />
orphans with their educational and<br />
living expenses as well as contributing<br />
financially to widows and divorcees.<br />
