change from one to another. Embedded in such
the buildings are traces of the past through
which we can learn about how they have been
used as revealed through their fabrics.
This walking guide explores treasured houses
and buildings around Bangkok through a series
of walking routes. Along the selected paths,
readers will find buildings which have been given
Architectural Conservation Awards by the Association
of Siamese Architects Under Royal
Patronage. We sincerely hope that our humble
effort would encourage readers to appreciate
historic buildings and be inspired to preserve
