al patrimonio industriale dell’area,
creando una griglia con ambienti di
lavoro flessibili.
La sostenibilità è predominante, non
solo per quanto riguarda l’ambiente,
ma anche l’impatto economico /
sociale / culturale di questo tipo
di operazione è stato preso in
considerazione.Essere leader nel
campo della sostenibilità è stato
un aspetto fondamentale nella
riqualificazione dell’intero sito.
Il risultato principale di questo
intervento è stato il riunire molti
attori e / o semplici utenti: istituti di
istruzione, start-up, imprese stabili,
gruppi governativi e comunitari.
I piani futuri stanno cercando di
dare casa a 1200 persone, divise in
850 alloggi.Aspetti principali:
- Il riutilizzo adattivo ha rispamiato
90.000 tonnellate di CO2, equivalenti
a 25.000 vetture rimosse dal traffico.
- Una griglia solare da 4 megawatt
sul tetto
- L’infrastruttura di comunicazione
fornisce la tecnologia connessa
come supporto per un sistema
“Smart Grid Energy”
- 4 aree boschive urbane nella zona
dell’edificio offrono spazi verdi
ombreggiati, rinfrescano l’aria e
riducono il carico termico del sole
sul tetto.

appeals to the industrial heritage
of the area, creating a grid with
flexibles work environments.
Sustainability was predominant, not
only concerning the environment,
but also the economic/social/
cultural impact of this kind of
operation was taken in account.
Being a sustainability leader
was a fundamental aspect in the
redevelopment of the entire site.
The main result of this intervention
was bringing together a lot of
actors and/or simple users:
education institutions, start-ups,
stable business, government and
community groups.
The future plans are trying to give
home to 1200 people, divided in 850
dwellings.Key facts:
- The adaptive re-use saved 90,000
tons of CO2, equivalent to 25,000 cars
taken off the traffic.
- A 4 megawatt solar grid on the roof
produces energy for users.
- Communications infrastructure
provides connected technology as
a support for a “Smart Grid Energy”
system.
- 4 urban woodlands in the building’s
area give shaded green spaces,
refresh the air and reduce the sun’s
thermal load on the roof.
