AQUATIC VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
If you would like to become an Aquatic Volunteer, you must be at least 14 years of age, provide
your Lifesaving Society ID number, and have a minimum qualification of Bronze Medallion and
Standard First Aid and CPR-B (Assistant Instructor is an asset). To qualify to be an Aquatic
Volunteer, email rec.volunteers@barrie.ca indicating your interest or ask for the Aquatic
Volunteer Application at any City of Barrie Recreation Centre!

BECOME A RECBUDDY!
A RecBuddy is a City of Barrie Volunteer who is paired 1:1 with a child, youth, or adult member
of the community who has special needs. RecBuddies are used to provide simple redirection,
breakdown instructions, act as an extra set of hands and provide additional support as needed
in a recreation setting. RecBuddies must be at least 14 years old, will receive orientation
training, and will never be left alone with a participant. If you would like to become a RecBuddy,
please email chiara.mabrucco@barrie.ca or ask for the RecBuddy Volunteer Application at any
City of Barrie Recreation Centre!
55+ CENTRE VOLUNTEERS
Allandale & Parkview 55+ Centres are volunteer based centres and are always looking for
volunteers to assist in various capacities. These capacities are but not limited to: desk
volunteers, special events, program convenors and more! If you are interested in meeting
new people, developing skills and having fun, come volunteer with us at our centres! Please
contact recreation staff at Allandale and/or Parkview 55+ Centre for our current volunteer
opportunities.
