BARRIE TRANSIT INFORMATION

WHAT ARE THE HOURS OF OPERATION?

Barrie Transit operates seven days a week. Service begins as early

as 4:30 a.m.; Monday to Friday with late evening service ending at

1:00 a.m. and the Friday & Saturday late night loop ending at

2:50 a.m. Saturday service starts at 6:45 a.m. with Late Evening

service ending at 1:00 a.m. Sunday Service starts at 8:35 a.m. and

ends at 11:00 p.m.

HOW DO I GET INFORMATION?

Barrie Transit Customer Service is available by calling

(705) 726-4242 or email ServiceBarrie@barrie.ca. Barrie Transit

information can also be found on the City of Barrie website at

barrie.ca/transit. Visit myridebarrie.ca for real time live bus

information and trip planning. For detours, Transit events and route

changes etc, please visit the Transit Service Notices pages.

Also try out the new sign-in feature of MyRide. Registered users

receive service impact notifications for favourite routes and

up-to-date arrival times at favourite stops. Let the bus “text” you!

DON’T “PASS” UP ON A GREAT DEAL!

Barrie Transit offers Day Passes, Ride Cards and Monthly Passes.

Monthly passes are available in different categories and allow

unlimited use during the month which they are valid. Four-month

Georgian College semester passes are also available for Georgian

College students. All full-time credit Georgian College students will

receive a Transit Pass. The cost of the pass is $86 per semester and is

added to student fees.

WHERE CAN I PURCHASE A BUS PASS?

Barrie Transit Terminal, City Hall, Service Barrie, Allandale Recreation

Centre, East Bayfield Community Centre, Holly Community Centre,

Parkview Community Centre and Georgian College Book Store.

CHILDREN & SENIORS

Children 12 and under can ride Barrie Transit for free, and seniors

65 + can ride free on Thursdays.

BARRIE TRANSIT SERVICE TO THE GO TRAIN

Transit service is provided to the Barrie South GO Station and

Allandale Waterfront GO Station. For train information call

1-888-GET ON GO visit gotransit.com or barrie.ca/transit.

SPECIALIZED TRANSIT

Barrie’s Specialized Transit provides door-to-door transit service

for individuals who are unable to use Barrie Transit’s Conventional

service due to a physical disability and/or functional limitation.

For information about Specialized Transit call (705) 726-4242, visit

barrie.ca/SpecializedTransit. Applications are available online

and in person through Service Barrie (1st floor) City Hall,

70 Collier Street.

Clients registered with Specialized Transit may use the service for

medical appointments, school, shopping, visiting family and friends,

social outings within the City of Barrie Limits. Specialized Transit

enables you to stay active in your community.
