Personal <strong>Capacity</strong><br />

Table 51 examines the self perceived level <strong>of</strong> preparedness <strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficials in the<br />

area <strong>of</strong> policy management. The table seeks to explore the self perceived<br />

state <strong>of</strong> readiness <strong>of</strong> <strong>District</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional staff to undertake responsibilities in<br />

respect to policy. The data is again quite revealing. Only a relatively small<br />

percentage <strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficials have assessed themselves as having a high state <strong>of</strong><br />

readiness to undertake policy management responsibilities as noted.<br />

Respondents feel least ready in working with SGBs <strong>and</strong> SMTs in respect to<br />

policy <strong>and</strong> in providing assistance in policy formulation <strong>and</strong> implementation<br />

(Table 52).<br />
