JOB REQUIREMENTS<br />

• Liaise with community based stakeholders to<br />

create good relationship<br />

• Liaise with school based stakeholders<br />

• Ensure sound interaction between departments as<br />

necessary for schools<br />

• Liaise with relevant <strong>District</strong> Officials to ensure the<br />

problems in schools are addressed<br />

• Co-ordinate all activities with regard to schools<br />

• Present information effectively<br />

• Prepare <strong>and</strong> submit written reports on assigned<br />

responsibilities<br />

• Liaise with relevant head <strong>of</strong>fice personnel to ensure<br />

effective support for schools<br />

• Regularly submit written <strong>and</strong> oral reports<br />

• Liaise with stakeholders inside <strong>and</strong> outside the<br />

Department to keep them abreast <strong>of</strong> developments<br />

• Communicate both verbally <strong>and</strong> in writing to Unions<br />

• Other job requirements in the performance area<br />

The job requirement that was viewed generally as least important was;<br />

When one examines the responses by the various job classes (Table 76), it is<br />

clear that while generally all EDOs see most <strong>of</strong> these job requirements as<br />

critical, Subject Advisors are less positive in this regard. Subject Advisors view<br />

these responsibilities as important, especially in respect to:<br />

� Presenting information effectively, <strong>and</strong><br />

� Regularly submitting written <strong>and</strong> oral reports<br />

As a group, however, Subject Advisors seem less favourable to:<br />

� Liaising with community-based stakeholders<br />

� Interacting with other Departments in the interest <strong>of</strong> the school<br />

� Coordinating activities in respect to schools, <strong>and</strong>
