4. Communicate your EnMS <strong>in</strong> the company<br />
While communicat<strong>in</strong>g your EnMS, you should differentiate<br />
between <strong>in</strong>ternal and external communication.<br />
Accord<strong>in</strong>g to <strong>DIN</strong> <strong>EN</strong> <strong>16001</strong>, <strong>in</strong>ternal communication is<br />
obligatory and is closely related to rais<strong>in</strong>g the awareness<br />
of employees when it comes to implement<strong>in</strong>g<br />
the EnMS. The external communication of your EnMS<br />
results is not mandatory; however, it helps to portray a<br />
positive profile of your company and positively affects<br />
your corporate image.<br />
Effective <strong>in</strong>ternal communication is an important<br />
prerequisite for the successful implementation of your<br />
EnMS. Inform<strong>in</strong>g your employees about the EnMS on<br />
a regular basis <strong>in</strong>creases their motivation to actively<br />
