1. Monitor<strong>in</strong>g and measurement<br />

Accord<strong>in</strong>g to <strong>DIN</strong> <strong>EN</strong> <strong>16001</strong>, an important aspect of energy management is the process<br />

of cont<strong>in</strong>uous improvement. In order to ensure this, you need to regularly check if<br />

you have achieved all energy objectives and targets and if the EnMS is function<strong>in</strong>g<br />

optimally.<br />

If necessary, you may need to undertake corrective measures.<br />

The follow<strong>in</strong>g aspects must be considered dur<strong>in</strong>g a regular review:<br />

it is possible to quickly detect <strong>in</strong>efficient use of energy. Also, it provides the opportunity<br />

to analyse the energy consumption and to measure the achievement of objectives<br />

and targets.<br />
