Covid-19 has radically changed our
lives by raising large and small daily
problems due to pandemic-related
events, we are forced to deal with.
We find ourselves in a suspended time, where
many things seem to relate to the health
emergency. In addition to this, there are other
problems which, perhaps because of the
pandemic, seem to be more serious.
Last but not least, there is the uncontrollable
increase in the price of raw materials, especially
steel and iron, which has risen by more than 70%.
In this specific case, however, it is clear that
this serious situation of raw material prices
is due not only to a monopolistic policy coming
from abroad and forcing Italian retailers
to purchase steel stocks at crazy prices (not only
prices, even negotiations are carried out in a
crazy way), but also to the unresolved Ilva issue,
which has been dragging on for many years now.
This situation is likely to jeopardise the market,
which has already been sorely affected
by the Covid-19 crisis.
We have no information that government
authorities (whether Italian or European),
including the Competition Authority,
have begun an investigation into the problem.
This proves, once again, how the rift between
those who are supposed to be watching over
the proper functioning of the economy in general
and manufacturers is now a consolidated fact.
However, there is also a positive side to
this situation: in the various economic sectors,
especially in ours, it acts as a driving force
for ideas and confrontation between operators.
New realities are emerging, new aggregations,
the result of a bottom-up push. They want to
count for more, requiring more answers in a very
difficult situation. The greatest demand is for real
cohesion, enabling resources and players
to pool, thus achieving jointly agreed objectives.
Il Covid-19 ha modificato radicalmente
le nostre vite sollevando quotidianamente
problemi, piccoli e grandi, dovuti a episodi
legati alla pandemia, con i quali siamo costretti
a fare i conti. Ci troviamo in un tempo sospeso,
dove molte cose sembrerebbero ricondursi
all’emergenza sanitaria. Oltre a questo si
avvicendano ulteriori problemi che, forse proprio
in presenza della pandemia, sembrano rivestire
un carattere più grave. Ultimo, ma piuttosto
importante, è l’incontenibile aumento dei prezzi
delle materie prime, in particolare acciaio e ferro,
che vedono incrementi superiori anche al 70%.
Nel caso specifico, però, risulta evidente che tale
grave situazione dei prezzi delle materie prime
sia dovuta, oltre che a una politica monopolistica
che viene dall’estero e costringe i rivenditori
italiani ad acquisti ‘criminali’ di stock di acciaio
(per il prezzo, ma anche per come vengono portate
avanti le trattative), anche all’irrisolta questione
dell’Ilva, che si trascina ormai da tanti anni.
Tale situazione rischia di destabilizzare il mercato,
già molto provato dalla crisi dovuta al Covid-19.
Non abbiamo notizia che le autorità governative
(italiane o europee che siano), compresa
l’Authority garante per la concorrenza, abbiano
iniziato un’indagine sul problema.
Questo dimostra, una volta di più, come
lo sfilacciamento tra chi deve vigilare sul corretto
andamento dell’economia in generale e le aziende
produttrici sia ormai un fatto consolidato.
Questa situazione, ha però anche un lato positivo:
nei vari settori economici, e in particolare
nel nostro, opera come propulsore di idee
e di confronto tra gli operatori.
Stanno emergendo nuove realtà, nuove
aggregazioni, frutto di una spinta dal basso,
che vogliono contare di più, necessitando
di maggiori risposte in un frangente molto
difficile. La richiesta maggiore è quella di una
coesione reale, che consenta di aggregare risorse
