<strong>TOJET</strong>: The <strong>Turkish</strong> Online Journal <strong>of</strong> Educational Technology – October <strong>2012</strong>, volume 11 Issue 4<br />

The results <strong>of</strong> both groups showed that <strong>the</strong>re were significant improvements in students’ reading comprehension<br />

performance over time. However, <strong>the</strong> treatment effects were investigated in relation to <strong>the</strong> second research<br />

question (Are <strong>the</strong>re any significant differences between <strong>the</strong> control and experimental groups in <strong>the</strong> post-tests in<br />

relation to <strong>the</strong> use <strong>of</strong> WebQuests?). In order to answer <strong>the</strong> second research question, an analysis <strong>of</strong> covariance<br />

(ANCOVA) was conducted partialling out <strong>the</strong> pre-test scores.<br />
