12 more ounces than she drank yesterday. How much

8. Stretch Your Thinking Kai needs to pour 2 gallons
of water into his fish tank. All he has is a measuring
cup. How many cups of water should he put in the
tank? Explain.
32 cups; I know that 1 gallon = 4 quarts, so
2 gallons = 8 quarts. I also know 1 quart = 4 cups.
Since Kai needs 8 quarts, that’s 8 × 4, or 32 cups.
