The following mitigation measure is recommended to reduce the visual impacts from the<br />

permanent facilities at the north end <strong>of</strong> the transmission line corridor.<br />

Mitigation Measure<br />

The substation at the north end <strong>of</strong> the transmission line corridor would be painted a color,<br />

subject to approval by the authorized <strong>of</strong>ficer, which would blend with the l<strong>and</strong>scape. Prior<br />

to painting, Ormat would contact the Mount Lewis Field Office project lead.<br />

3.14.2.2 Alternative 1<br />

The impacts <strong>of</strong> Alternative 1 to Visual Resources would not be different from that <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Proposed Action. The mitigation measures proposed under the Proposed Action would be<br />

equally applicable for Alternative 1.<br />

3.15 Soclo-EcoNoMic VALUES<br />

3.15.1 Affected Environment<br />

The closest population center to the project area is Battle Mountain, in <strong>L<strong>and</strong></strong>er County. Adjacent<br />

population centers/counties are Lovelock, in Pershing County <strong>and</strong> Winnemucca, in Humboldt<br />

County. Pertinent economic values are provided in Table 13.<br />
