12-inch wide trench would be excavated to an average depth <strong>of</strong> approximately three feet deep<br />

along the pipeline sleepers.<br />

The pipelines would be constructed across roads to allow continued vehicle access, either by<br />

trenching under the road, or running the roadbed up <strong>and</strong> over the pipeline. Photo 2 below shows<br />

a typical pipeline with electrical cables.<br />

2.1.6.3 Operation <strong>and</strong> Maintenance Procedures for the Transmission Line<br />

Maintenance would include transmission line <strong>and</strong> pole repair <strong>and</strong>/or replacement. No routine<br />

maintenance would be performed on the transmission line. Ormat would annually inspect the<br />

transmission line from a light, <strong>of</strong>f-road vehicle. Repairs <strong>and</strong>/or facility replacement would<br />

transpire, as necessary. Routine travel within the ROW is not expected.<br />
