Sage grouse:
Opentivus would avoid active leks (strufting grounds) by 2 miles
during srnining season (see Management Guidelines for Sage Grouse
and Sagebrush Ecosystems in Nevath, Octobet 2000). Approximate
dates: March 1 - May iS
Operations would avoid sage grouse wintering habitat by 4 mile while
occupied. Most bown wintering rounds in the Shoshone-Eureka
Resource Area occur at high elevations and are not likely to be
affected. Avoidance dates would vary with severity of the winter.
ELM would limit the disturbance to and fragmentation of all biown
sage grouse habitat.
Ferruginoua hawks:
Operations would avoid active nests by ‘Ii mile.
