3 AFFECTED ENVIRONMENT/ENVIRONMENTAL CONSEQUENCES
To comply with NEPA, the BLM is required to address specific elements of the environment that
are subject to requirements specified in statute or regulation or by executive order (BLM 1988
and BLM 2008a). Table 6 outlines the elements that must be addressed in all environmental
assessments, as well as other resources deemed appropriate for evaluation by the BLM, and
denotes if the Proposed Action or No Action Alternative affects those elements.
