Jersey Valley Geothermal Development Project<br />

Operation <strong>of</strong> the project is expected to require 20 workers, <strong>and</strong> would not induce population<br />

growth in an area. Neither does the proposed Project create or provide any infrastructure which<br />

would indirectly induce substantial population growth.<br />

3.15.2.2 Alternative 1<br />

The impacts to Socio-economic values <strong>of</strong> Alternative 1 would be the same as those described for<br />

the Proposed Action.<br />

3.16 LAND USE AUTHORIZATIONS<br />

3.16.1 Affected Environment<br />

Several rights-<strong>of</strong>-way (ROWs) have been granted by the BLM on the public l<strong>and</strong>s within the<br />

Jersey Valley Unit Area <strong>and</strong> transmission line corridor (see Table 14), <strong>and</strong> generally consist <strong>of</strong><br />

ROWs for power lines, telephone lines, access roads, <strong>and</strong> pipelines (BLM 2008c). Additionally,<br />

a public water reserve (PWR 107) <strong>and</strong> several authorizations for fences <strong>and</strong> a pipeline are<br />

located within the Jersey Valley Unit Area.<br />
