<strong>UMUC</strong> Certificates<br />
<strong>UMUC</strong> Certificates<br />
<strong>UMUC</strong>-<strong>Europe</strong> <strong>of</strong>fers programs <strong>of</strong> study leading to University <strong>of</strong> Maryland University College lower-level certificates in specific academic<br />
areas including Accounting, Computer Studies, Management Studies, Mathematics, Women’s Studies, and Foreign Language Area<br />
Studies (German, Italian, and Spanish). When Certificate requirements change, students already in progress toward a certificate must<br />
complete the requirements for the certificate within two years or convert to the new requirements. All requirements involve lower-level<br />
courses, although appropriate upper-level courses may be substituted.<br />
These certificate programs are not terminal programs for students who wish to continue working toward associate or bachelor’s degrees.<br />
Certificates have two common requirements as highlighted in the following box.<br />

Common Certificate Requirements<br />
1. A total <strong>of</strong> 18 semester hours, including at least 9 semester hours with <strong>UMUC</strong>.<br />
2. A grade <strong>of</strong> C or better for all courses used toward a certificate.<br />
Accounting Foundations Certificate<br />
