Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gi of God,”. I oen wonder if the church of
my generaon knows the gis of God but specifically, knows the gi of salvaon.
How can a Chrisan that claims to know that void of Christ men and women will
be in eternal torment do nothing to warn them? How can anyone who says they
are a child of God sleep well knowing they have done nothing to warn even one
person in their lives? It is not possible that this person is a believer. They may be a
Chrisan by the world standards but a believer they are not.
Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.” Jesus already knew that
she had no husband. The gis of the Holy Spirit are for us all, 1 Corinthians 12:4-
11. Jesus used the gi of knowledge many mes, Mt. 9:4, 12:25; Lk. 5:22, 6:8,
11:17; Jn. 2:24-25. It was this very knowledge that Jesus had of her past that
caused her to acknowledge Him.
1 Corinthians 3:6-9 SAYS; I have planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the
increase. 7 So then neither is he who plants, nor he who waters anything, but God
who gives the increase. 8 Now he who plants, and he who waters are one, and
each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are
laborers together with God: You are God’s vineyard; you are God’s building.
The evangelist is the most neglected tool of the church arsenal, expected to sit
and be silent whilst Pharisees teach messages that lead the harvest back to the
slaughter and if they should speak out against the leading of the sheep to the
slaughter, they are shamed and even expelled by the very preachers they brought
the harvest to for doctrine, reproof, correcon, and instrucon in righteousness.
Unfortunately, today, many a preacher is more concerned with their own wellbeing
than with that of the church and that is why they preach to ckle ears. Take
away their income and you will soon find out who is a sheep and who is a wolf.
An evangelist once told me, “If the church cannot meet the need, then you must
do it yourself”. That was a liberang statement for me. Up unl that point, the
thought of disciplining our converts never crossed my mind. But that is the
command, “Go and make disciples of all naons, bapzing them in the Name of
