understood the vow you were making with God. Read one of his closing
arguments calling the crowd to accept Christ. - “Don’t you want something to
commit your life to and to live for? Something exciting and filled with adventure?
Conflict? Yes. Tension? Yes. Trouble? Yes. Christ doesn’t call us to a playground, He
calls us to a battlefield. He calls us to war. He calls us to fight. He says, “You’ve got
to deny self, and take up the cross.” You're at war with the world, the flesh, and
the devil. You to come out of the world “Be ye separate, saith the Lord.” Love not
the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world the
love of the Father is not in him. We are to come out of the world, and then we
come to Christ. But he sends us back into the world to be witnesses for him. Have
you given your life to Christ?”
Billy Graham would however also say that we are to invite Christ into our life and
there is no Scriptural basis for this, that is a doctrine of man and not Biblical.
Some theologians would argue that the prayer of salvaon started with Billy
Graham. This may have been where the errors that crept in started. Reinhard
Bonnke another general of the faith used the same method to reach the masses.
I’m not trying to take away from what these greats have done. I am urging those
who would win the lost, who do not follow through with a means to disciple
converts to consider the Scriptures before telling a person who has said a prayer
that they are now saved. I’m urging the church at large to stop adversing their
count of people who have said a prayer as now being saved. It is false and it is
lying.
The Word says we will know them by their fruit. Adversing falsely only helps the
lukewarm remain lukewarm as they see the numbers and think, the harvest is
plenful, and the laborers are already doing a great job. If whole cies are in fact
being saved, then the evidence would be in whole cies looking like Jesus, and
doing what Jesus has told all believers to do.
