The Key to Knowledge is the laws of God. The law of God directs a sinner to the
knowledge of sin which causes the sinner to see their need for a Saviour. Without
seeing the need for a Saviour, sin becomes society's norm, but death remains the
penalty for its sin.
If there was no speed limit a policeman could not hold us accountable to the set
speed. If God had not set his laws in stone, He could not hold us accountable to
His laws. But He did and now we are.
Psalm 19:7 says, “the law of the Lord is perfect restoring & refreshing the soul.”
The law converts our soul.
For no person will be jusfied [freed of guilt and declared righteous] in His sight by
[trying to do] the works of the Law. For through the Law, we become conscious of
sin [and the recognion of sin directs us toward repentance but provides no
remedy for sin]. Romans 3:20
We have already fallen short of the law and now we all need the mercy of the
judge. That mercy is only available to the living, for the dead it's too late.
The message of the cross is foolishness to those who don’t know they have broken
the law of God. Our job is to rightly divide the word of truth so that the hearer
sees their need to be saved.
If you don’t know you are sick, you won't seek the cure. Because God has given us
the law, we need a savior, we need the cure for sin.
Simple Example Presenng Truth
Tom: Hello Brad, how are you today?
Brad: Hi Tom, I am well, thank you.
Tom: Brad have you ever read the Bible?
Brad: I have picked it up and read a few lines over the years.
