The following Sunday we were back at our home church. I found my chair in the
back corner, and that’s where I reluctantly sat for the next 11 months. God told
me to go back, but he didn’t tell me I needed to be happy about it and I was not.
11 months later sll sing in that chair God spoke to me. “Brad, are you done
hang them yet?” I burst into tears as I realized I was doing to them the very thing
I hated that they were doing to everyone who was not like them. I said, “God
forgive me” and He said, “Pray for them”. And as I started to pray for them it felt
like heavy weights were coming off my back, I was praying for them, but I was the
one geng delivered. Aer this service we never returned to this church, It felt as
if God had said that the lesson was over, and we could go.
But leaving as we were about to find out was not going to be that easy.
Just because they don’t like you, does not mean they want you going elsewhere.
Vanessa had a dream that week, in her dream she saw a new home, it was
beauful with warm colors and green grass. That following Sunday we headed to
see a new church we had heard about, Full Gospel, a South African pastor. It
seemed almost too good to be true. And as we drove up Vanessa started saying is
the place from my dream. We knew before we even entered the parking lot that
we had arrived at our next post and entering we fit right in.
A few weeks later our new pastor called me to the office. God told me that my old
pastor had called him and that this pastor wanted to talk about it. I went to the
meeng, and I was told that my old pastor had relayed that I was a troublemaker
and my new pastor wanted to make sure I wasn’t coming in to disrupt his church. I
listened to him tell me everything he had heard about me and then he asked me if
I had anything to say. I thought about it and said, “Pastor, you look like you are a
man who hears God, let God tell you himself who I am.” He changed the subject
and we chated for a while and then I le. A week later he called me back to the
office and said, I am going to call your old pastor in to say to you directly what he
said to me and then I am going to tell him that he has brought you this far, but you
are now here and my responsibility.
