2. Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead because, with the
heart, one believes unto righteousness.
The Wuest expanded translaon says, “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as
Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from among the dead, you will
be saved.
The context of this Scripture is Paul speaking in regard to Israel who was following
the old covenant.
Romans 10:1-4 says; Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is
that they may be saved. 2 For I tesfy about them that they have a zeal for God,
but not according to knowledge. 3 For, being ignorant of God’s righteousness and
seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to the
righteousness of God. 4 Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness for
everyone who believes.
Paul says; “They have a zeal for God but not according to knowledge.”
Luke 11:52 says; Woe to you lawyers, because you have taken away the key to
knowledge (scriptural truth). You yourselves did not enter, and you held back
those who were entering [by your flawed interpretaon of God’s word and your
man-made tradion].
Romans 3:20 says; For no person will be jusfied [freed of guilt and declared
righteous] in His sight by [trying to do] the works of the Law. For through the Law,
we become conscious of sin [and the recognion of sin directs us toward
repentance but provides no remedy for sin].
Romans 10:5-10 says; For Moses writes about the righteousness which is based
on the law: “The man who does those things shall live by them.” 6 But the
righteousness which is based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will
ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down), 7 or, ‘Who will descend into
the deep?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say?
