money. We withdrew our last $200.00 dollars in all the world, this was it. We lived
paycheck to paycheck. The costs of operang our street ministry oen caused us
to go without and this was one of those months the ministry had bled us dry. But
we withdrew our last, put it in an envelope and the envelope in a pocket Bible we
had in the car, and drove back to the family who was now waing for us in the
parking lot of the church.
I parked the car and walked over to him and his wife, gave them the Bible with the
cash, prayed for them got back into the car, and drove off wondering what I was
going to do to provide for my family unl payday.
Monday passed by Tuesday passed by, and on Wednesday that week, a man came
up to me and handed me a cheque for $2000.00 saying he had been watching
what we had been doing on the streets with our ministry and wanted to bless us.
Praise God! I was ready to give up and here God sent a man to bless us for being
obedient. This was the start of our giving without ever quesoning God. When I
look back on that day 8 years ago now, I know without a doubt that it was this
very day that set us free in the areas of finance.
The following week we were away in Regina ministering in another church. I
watched our home church on Facebook live and there was the guy we had given
our last sharing a tesmony. He said “A faithful brother who hears from God came
and gave me $200.00 last week Sunday. I lost my job and could not afford to pay
for our car, so the bank gave me unl Monday to pay $201.00 in order to keep it.”
We catapulted from paycheck to paycheck to being mortgage-free and debt-free
very quickly pung into pracce what I had learned this day about giving and
obedience. There were sll trials to come but knowing God rewarded obedience
made every trial seem more like an excing waing room than the usual place of
anxiety.
Since this we have given away cars, been given cars, sold our vehicles to raise
money, worked harder to go further, trusng, and believing God.
If you wont believe God, someone else will and they will go, and you wont.
