and an audition.<br />
What will I learn?<br />
If your passion is Acting for Screen<br />
and other digital media, you can<br />
look forward to working on short<br />
films, multi-camera projects, voice<br />
characterisation for animation<br />
and digital platforms, presenting<br />
and vlogging. Those who prefer<br />
Acting for Stage will experience<br />
musical theatre, contemporary<br />
and classical theatre, singing,<br />
movement and dance.<br />
In the second year, students<br />
fulfil a minimum of 30 hours<br />
work experience at Live theatre,<br />
Newcastle, working with<br />
professional actors, directors,<br />
producers and facilitators, giving<br />
you real industry experience to start<br />
you off on a successful career in an<br />
exciting and rewarding profession.<br />
This course is also central to our<br />
‘COLAB’ ethos. Where students<br />
work collaboratively with other<br />
areas of the college. Students on<br />
this course have worked with Media,<br />
Production Arts, Music, Media-<br />
Make-up and Dance students on<br />
a range of projects under the<br />
COLAB banner.<br />

What will I learn?<br />
This course offers a unique<br />
combination of lighting and<br />
sound design and operation, set<br />
design, prop making, rigging and<br />
maintenance, production and stage<br />
management skills. Throughout<br />
this course, you will build your skills<br />
working as part of a production<br />
team, giving you real industry<br />
experience and preparing you for<br />
a successful career in this exciting,<br />
ever-changing and dynamic<br />
profession.<br />
Production Arts students at<br />
Gateshead College are an integral<br />
part of all the performances we<br />
stage, both in-house and at a<br />
range of music and theatre venues<br />
across the region. Students also get<br />
to engage with visiting lecturers,<br />
as well as go on trips and visits<br />
to venues, both regionally and<br />
nationally.<br />
Many of our graduates have<br />
secured places at some of the<br />
nation’s leading drama schools<br />
and HE institutions, including RADA,<br />
Mountview, Royal Welsh College<br />
of Music and Drama, LIPA and<br />
Backstage Academy.<br />
