What will I learn?
If you're looking to become a
care worker, home carer, health
care assistant or support worker
then this course is for you.
You’ll gain a sound understanding
of communication, healthy living,
values, human lifespan, promoting
health, anatomy and physiology.
Your learning will be delivered
through classwork, practical
activities, demonstrations and
guest speakers as well as blended
learning through online platforms
and an interactive care home app.
Fantastic opportunities to
undertake work experience
could also be available.
On completion you may
be able to progress onto
our Level 3 programme or
into an apprenticeship.
Foundation Diploma
in Health & Social Care
Level 3
Duration
1 year
Entry requirements
Five academic GCSEs
at 4-9 including English,
maths and science.
What will I learn?
On this course you'll gain an
understanding of working in health
and social care environments,
principles of safe practice,
meeting individual needs,
human lifespan development
and physiological disorders.
Your learning will be delivered
through classwork, practical
activities, demonstrations and
guest speakers as well as blended
learning through online platforms
including an opportunity to use
virtual reality technology to explore
the human body. In addition
you will develop independent
learning skills, teamwork and
professional behaviours.
You'll get fantastic hands-on
experience through a supervised
work placement with a minimum
of 100 hours at one of our industry
partners, for example in a care
home or community setting.
On completion you may be
able to progress onto the Level
3 top up Extended Diploma
or into an apprenticeship.
