If you’re looking for an introduction
to business, travel and hospitality,
this course is ideal for you.
Customer service is at the heart of
the business, tourism and hospitality
sectors and you’ll develop your
business awareness skills and
confidence to ensure you know
how to give your customers that
five star treatment. Working on
an event, you’ll also build your
team work, problem solving and
communications skills.

3 GCSEs in any subjects at a
grade 4 or above, or equivalent.
What will I learn?
This course has been designed to
give you the knowledge and skills
to start your own business, enter
employment or an apprenticeship.
You’ll work on different business
ideas considering the type of
ownership and the skills and
resources you will need to set up
your business. Plus, you’ll get creative
developing a brand name, logo and
promotional material for
your business.
Understanding all things numbers
and legal are vitally important to a
business start-up and you’ll learn
about HMRC and tax requirements
including VAT, cash flow forecasts,
invoices and payment receipts.
You’ll also learn how to develop a
robust and thorough business plan.
Tourism is a multi-million pound
industry and you’ll learn more about
the sector here in the UK and get
out and about visiting key tourist
attractions.
You’ll also develop your digital, IT
and presentation skills throughout
the duration of the course.
The skills and knowledge you
gain from the course will help you
step into a job, apprenticeship or
progress on to the next level
of study.
