Scope and Content Note
This subseries includes the specific production materials for volume V as published in
1981. However, Vander Poel's research on the historical cartography of Pompeii forms the
most important element of this subseries. He compiled an extensive research collection
of plans, spanning the range from Latapie's early work at the site to recent tourist
pamphlets. The majority of these plans are photographic or reprographic copies, but a
few originals are also included. The dates given with each plan below represent the date
of the state of excavations depicted, and this is frequently different from a plan's
publication date. The plans are arranged chronologically.
