steward, who has a flat and a wife in London, UK, a son in Copenhagen, Denmark, he was
born in New Zealand where his parents and brother still live, and as part of his job he flies
regularly between London, Los Angeles and Singapore. Ida Winther reported that he
would connect with the different locations through his computer. He is always on
messenger when using his laptop and he also displays the current weather conditions in
places where people he cares about live or in places where he is often traveling. He
furthermore has set the home page in his browser to display the news from one of the
places and says that he checks the news and weather for New Zealand before calling his
parents. We were intrigued by the use of metadata as a means for connecting and we
developed multiple scenarios for this area, which led to the creation of the HiT prototype.
6.1.2. My role in HOMEinTOUCH
I designed this prototype, built the case and drafted the interface, whereas others did the
technical execution. I constructed the evaluation and conducted a self-­‐test and I was
interviewed by a fellow researcher, but interviewed the other users in the study and
together with two others in the research group, summed it up in the paper (my former
name: Hansen):

indications.
