Interactions beyond Connecting. The other area concerns a potential in developing the term eccentric interaction, which is inspired by designing for the wealthy. This dissertation treats the Connecting Interaction through design experiments. It would be interesting to try designing for the other Homing Interactions, to learn more about them as well as experience the outcome for the different interactions. Further research can uncover if all homing interactions are suitable for being supported through interaction design or if there are areas in this field that are best supported by other means. The Artifacting tactic did not become clear until the late in this dissertation work, as we have been working around the Outboxing tactic instead. I would like to further discover how people perform the Artifacting tactic and develop concepts that meet this tactic through interactive artifacts that support a home feeling. The literature about nomadic possessions and theorizing artifacts ethnographically (Henare, Wastell, & Holbraad, 2006) represents a new turn in ethnographical research that would be very interesting to bring together with possession theories (R. W. Belk, 1988) as well as developing design and prototypes towards Artifacting Interactions. The second theme that I would like to pursue if the research were to continue lies in the area of Eccentric Interaction, which is an interaction ideal emphasizing the staging of homes and people through the way they interact with technology. The background for the interaction paradigm is rolled out in the paper: Published as: Lynggaard, A. B., Petersen, M. Eccentric Interaction views interaction in a social and physical context where the people around the user become spectators that should be impressed. It is a matter of living out your dreams and passions. Eccentric interaction involves designing technologies that enable people to exercise their passions, and to express themselves through the expression while interacting with technology. The 141
products at Bang & Olufsen appeal to us through the heuristics of what is defined as BeoMagic (Hepworth, 2007; Lynggaard & Mortensen, 2012) and this ideal has potentials for further exploration that can be applied more generally than towards the marginal of the wealthy. 142
