3.4. ANALYSIS OF VENTURE CAPITAL RAISED BY INDUSTRY<br />
Israeli companies have a distinct presence among the various hi-tech industries.<br />
The capital ratio raised by the different sectors has varied over the years.<br />
In 2010, the Life Sciences sector led capital raisings with $350 million or 28%<br />
of total capital raised, followed by Communications - with $238 million or<br />
19%, and the Internet with $222 million or 18%. The Semiconductors sector<br />
followed with 13% of capital raised in 2010, compared to 8% and 15% in 2009<br />
and 2008, respectively.<br />
The following graph displays the relative part of the different sectors out of<br />
total capital raised over the past 10 years:<br />
