Origin and Breeding<br />

Emasculation and controlled pollination at ARC Infrutec Nietvoorbij Experimental<br />

Farm in Oct 1988: maternal (seed) parent is ‘Datal’; paternal (pollen) parent is<br />

‘Centennial Seedless’. Vegetative propagation, budwood grafted onto rootstocks on<br />

Bellevue and Hex Valley experimental farms in 1991. Released to industry in 1997.<br />

Selection criteria: seedlessness, keeping quality under cold storage. Breeder: ARC<br />

Infruitec Nietvoorbij, Stellenbosch, South Africa.<br />
