Period Overseas data was verified in <strong>Australia</strong> by local observations<br />

at Leppington, NSW in an environmentally controlled<br />

greenhouse. Trial of the candidate was conducted with typical<br />

commercial conditions during the growth cycle prior to<br />

assessment. Comparisons of characteristics are based on<br />

Dutch trials, which were assessed under conditions of<br />

controlled environment in glasshouses at Wageningen, the<br />

Netherlands. <strong>Plant</strong>s were on their own roots, nutrition was<br />

maintained as part of a commercial hydroponic system, pest<br />

and disease treatments applied as required.<br />

Origin and Breeding<br />

Controlled pollination: un-named seed parent x un-named pollen parent, in a planned<br />

breeding program at De Kwakel, the Netherlands during the years 1997 to 1998. Both<br />

parents are non-commercial varieties within the breeding programme. Selection<br />

criteria: medium flower size, suitable commercial yield of flower stems, pink flower<br />

colour. Propagation: vegetative by cuttings. Breeder: P.N.J. Schreurs, Piet Schreurs<br />
