One variety does not have more than one number unless the application has been withdrawn
or refused by the Office on a later stage and has afterwards been resubmitted.
Application/filing date
The application/filing date is the date when the Office officially accepted and assigned the
application number to a request for plant variety protection.
Grant number
The grant number if a four-character number. The certificates of protection are numbered
sequentially according to the order of issue by the Office.
Start date - grant/registration
Date on which PBR was granted or NLI listed by the Office.
Calculated future expiration date
The date shown is the calculated expiration date because the certificate of protection can be
abandoned prior to expiration. A certificate of protection is currently granted for a period
of 15 to 20 years according to the species.
Applicant’s name
The name of the current applicant for the variety.
Breeder’s name
The name of the breeder of the variety-individual or organization.
Title holder’s name
The owner of the variety.
