Type of record and variety identifier
The identifier identifies uniquely a variety which can have an application number only for
plant breeders’ rights.
Common name in national language
This is not always the translation of the botanical name. A botanical species is sometimes
split according to cultivation or use. For instance, wheat might be spring wheat or winter
wheat.
Date+proposed denomination, first appearance or first entry in the database
The denomination is proposed by the applicant, and the date is the day of receiving of the
proposed denomination by the Office.

The publication is made in the Official Bulletin of Industrial Property Section Plant Variety
Protection. Since July 31, 2002, the Gazette is published every third month and the date to
be considered is the number of the publication.
Application number
This is the number given by the Office (OSIM) for each application.
Publication date of data regarding the application
The publication is made in the official gazette (Official Bulletin of Industrial Property –
Section Plant Variety Protection).
Start date of grant
For PBR, the start date of the grant is the date the decision is taken and published in the
Official Bulletin of Industrial Property - Section Plant Variety Protection.
Applicant’s name
For PBR: name of the applicant who can be the future holder of the grant.
